Laughing Fish Studio is an art and ceramics workshop and gallery situated a stones throw from the picturesque wharf and popular restaurants of Mapua, Tasman.   
 
Shona McLean, cartoonist, painter and ceramist, and husband Martin Lindley opened the studio in 2000 and quickly established a following for their unique range of bright and beautiful ceramics, quirky wall tiles, paintings, cards, and reproductions of local scenes and attractions.
 
The aim is to keep the studio and output reasonably small so there continues to be sufficient time and energy for continuing to develop new ideas and designs as well as enjoying contact with the many local and international visitors who pass through the area.
 
Over summer the studio is open most daylight hours, in winter the hours are considerably reduced, call the studio first if you are heading this way in the colder months.
 
Laughing Fish Ceramics are also available through Pots n Prints Tahunanui, Suter Gallery, and World of Wearable Arts in Nelson.  They are available through selected outlets elsewhere in New Zealand.
